Washington, D.C. — The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has approved the Construction and Operations Plan (COP) for New England Wind – two offshore wind projects capable of providing reliable, clean energy to nearly one million homes and businesses across the region. Turn Forward celebrates this key milestone and congratulates the communities, advocates, state and federal officials, and labor partners working together to power New England with offshore wind energy.

The approval of New England Wind builds on a suite of recent offshore wind announcements to move offshore wind leases and projects forward. Earlier this summer, two major projects – Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind and Revolution Wind – began offshore construction, demonstrating the many benefits of launching this new energy source for America – including thousands of manufacturing and construction jobs. These milestones contribute to America’s growing offshore wind workforce, which is on track to deliver tens of thousands of family-sustaining jobs within the next decade.
