About the Exchange
Turn Forward’s Energy Research Exchange (“the Exchange”) is designed to supply credible, nonpartisan analysis to address today’s most pressing energy questions. Drawing on independent research, polling, strategic analyses, and case studies, the Exchange provides a platform for accessible, data-driven resources informed by experts across the field.
Current Focus Areas
The Exchange is currently advancing a series of studies to analyze how offshore wind functions as part of a diverse, all-of-the-above energy mix, including the role it can play in delivering reliable and affordable electricity just when America’s grid needs it most. Additional research underway includes bipartisan polling that tracks public views on offshore wind power over time in order to identify priority topics of interest and inform ongoing research and communication strategies. Why it Matters
Today’s energy debate is crowded with outdated claims and misinformation about offshore wind, just when America’s grid needs this abundant, local power source more than ever. Yet, as more of these major new projects come online, the many benefits they deliver to local power grids, communities, and ratepayers is becoming increasingly clear. With constraints on research budgets across the public and private sector continuing to intensify, Turn Forward has launched the Exchange to help fill these critical gaps with timely and independent analysis needed to neutralize myths on cost and reliability, validate offshore wind’s many benefits, and equip individuals and policymakers across the aisle with solid, credible information.
Advisors to the Exchange
The Exchange draws on a network of advisors who bring expertise from across industry, energy markets, national security, nonprofit organizations, economic analysis, and grid operations. Advisors to the Exchange have included representatives of industry, government, and a range of nongovernmental organizations.
