Erin McLean

Erin McLean is the Communications Director at Turn Forward, where she leads national communications strategy focused on building durable, bipartisan support for U.S. offshore wind and clean energy development. Her work centers on translating complex research, policy, and technical issues into clear, credible narratives for policymakers, industry partners, funders, and cross sector coalitions. She brings a strong emphasis on accuracy, credibility, and judgment to communications in politically sensitive environments. She has previously led public facing communications for NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science Marine Spatial Planning efforts and worked in corporate communications at a global pharmaceutical company, collaborating closely with scientists and technical experts in every role. Her communications philosophy is rooted in meeting people where they are and building trust through clarity, respect, and evidence. Erin holds a master’s degree in marine biology.
