Washington, D.C. — Turn Forward Executive Director Hillary Bright issued the following statement regarding the Department of the Interior’s decision to halt work on the Revolution Wind project:

“Revolution Wind is 80% complete and positioned to deliver exactly what America needs: more reliable, affordable power in high-demand regions, new capacity for the grid, and momentum for domestic energy growth. BOEM’s action introduces uncertainty at a time when the energy sector needs clarity and commitment, and puts at risk power for 350,000 homes, as well as the jobs, contracts, and supply chain investments already underway across the country.

With electricity demand rising and grid reliability top of mind, projects already under construction represent some of the most immediate solutions available. We’re hopeful that long term solutions can be found that keep projects moving forward and workers on the job.”
